Who operates the app
Let’s Build Travel Plans is developed by Let’s Build Apps HQ, referred to here as “we”, “us” or “our”. Send privacy questions through the support form.
We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites. Travel Plans 2.0 does not require an account, Sign in with Apple login or Supabase account.
Trip information stays on this device
Trips, itinerary items, packing lists, payments, document references, traveller details, emergency contacts, notes, settings and archive information are stored in the app’s private container on your iPhone using Apple SwiftData.
The app has no developer-operated account or trip database. It does not include an advertising or analytics SDK.
Booking files and optional iCloud Drive
Files you deliberately attach—such as booking PDFs, tickets and photos—are stored in the app’s private Documents area. You can optionally move these booking files to the app’s private iCloud Drive container so they are available through your Apple account. This setting affects booking files only: trip facts remain stored locally on the device.
Apple operates iCloud and applies the iCloud settings, security and retention associated with your Apple account. We do not receive your Apple password or get a copy of your files on a Let’s Build Apps HQ server.
Files, photos and import limits
The app can import files or photos only when you choose those actions. Imported files are limited to 50 MB. The app may read file metadata needed to display, categorise and open the attachment, but does not upload it to us.
Optional place discovery, photos and sharing
- Apple Maps: destination and activity searches send your search words and, when available, the trip destination’s map coordinates to Apple. MapKit retrieves map imagery for previews and itinerary cards. The app does not request your current device location. Manual planning remains available offline.
- Place-photo search: when you choose Find place photos and search, the app sends the words you enter to Wikimedia Commons. Result previews and chosen photos load from Wikimedia’s servers. These requests expose ordinary network information, including your IP address, to Wikimedia under its privacy policy. Your full itinerary, notes, documents and personal photos are not sent for this search. The app offers images marked CC0 or public domain and retains source/author details inside the downloaded image. Check the source before use. Coverage varies; your own Photos, Files and map-cover options remain available.
- No AI service: the discovery guides use preset planning prompts and live Apple Maps lookups, not generative AI. The app does not send your trip to an AI provider or charge a subscription.
- Exports: your saved trip information and booking files leave the app when you choose an Apple share or file action and select a destination. Downloaded cover-photo source details remain in full trip backups.
Backups and paid-upfront purchase
A complete trip backup includes trip details, notes, photos and attached booking files. It is a readable JSON file, not an encrypted vault. Only export it to a destination you trust. Restoring creates new local trip copies and does not replace existing trips. Copies you save or share outside the app are not removed when you delete a trip.
The planned App Store release costs £3.99 paid upfront in the UK, with Apple’s equivalent prices elsewhere. Apple processes the purchase; the app does not collect your payment-card details. There is no subscription or in-app purchase. Private TestFlight testing remains free.
Recovery and deletion
If the local SwiftData store cannot be opened, Travel Plans moves the unreadable store files into a dated recovery folder before creating a fresh store. Booking files in Documents are not deleted by this recovery process.
You can archive trips and permanently delete them from inside the app. Deleting the app removes its local container. Booking files moved to iCloud Drive may remain in iCloud until you remove them through the app or your Apple iCloud storage controls.
Children and sensitive details
Travel Plans is a general travel-planning utility and is not directed to children. You control the information you enter. Avoid adding passport numbers, medical details or other sensitive information unless it is needed for your trip and you are comfortable storing it on the device or in your private iCloud Drive container.
TestFlight and release status
This policy covers Travel Plans 2.0 during private TestFlight and release preparation, including the September 2026 updates for full trip backups, document-expiry status, day deletion and optional place/photo discovery. The features available depend on the installed build. We will update this policy if the release implementation or data handling changes.
